Minnesota Public Radio is celebrating its 50th Anniversary this year, and what better place to do that than in our birthplace? MPR Day at Collegeville, St. John's University, will kick off at 6 AM on April 25. Live from Brother Willie's Pub, the day starts off with Cathy Wurzer, who will host a regional broadcast of Morning Edition. At 10 AM Alison Young takes over for a midday broadcast of Classical MPR.
Starting at 3 PM, Jill Riley of The Current will take on the airwaves with a live performance from Communist Daughter.
There will be plenty of refreshments and meet and greets throughout the day, as well as the chance to pick up some 50th Anniversary Merchandise!
This event is made possible in part by the State of Minnesota Legacy Amendment’s Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.
