Some may remember "Hangar 18" as a 1980 film about UFOs that carried ties to the secret test site Area 51 as well as UFO-ology. The film made a mere $6 million and was considered a flop.

Fast forward 26 years. For some members of the next generation, Hangar 18 is a rap group consisting of Alaska, Windnbreez and paWL, who rose from the underground rap world in New York City. They unleashed their unique style of hip-hop with the release of "The Multi-Platinum Debut Album" in 2004 on Definitive Jux Records and have continued to make a name for themselves on the hip-hop scene.

Alaska and Windnbreez from the band stopped by The Current Studios for a live performance of exclusive tracks and chat with Mark Wheat before their performance at The Triple Rock.

Look for an EP from Hangar 18 in February 2007 consisting of digital downloads with a full-length recording expected by the end of 2007.

Songs performed: "The Beat," "The Vodka Song" and "Baking Soda."
