The Great American Songbook is a compliation of American music, including ethnic American folk music, Ragtime, classical, and American and European musical theater from 1925 to 1960. Some have dismissed it as an older body of work that has no bearing on contemporary rock music; however, Adam Levy of the Honeydogs begs to differ. Southern Songbook, a new performance series at the Southern Theater in Minneapolis, features local artists re-interpreting and talking about American Songbook classics. Aby Wolf, Grant Cutler, and John Munson are just a few of the Minneapolis musicians to contribute their talents at Southern Songbook's next installment on February 14.

The Southern Songbook stopped by the Local Show for a live performance. Songs performed: "Eyes on Me," by Aby Wolf, "Your Body Next to Mine," by Grant Cutler, and "Wonderful Way," by Ryan Paul.
