Is/Is performs in The Current studios
by David Campbell, Jon Schober and Is/Is
April 08, 2012
Is/Is has consistently risen to the top of the local music scene, anchored by tight, vintage-inspired rhythms and scuzzy vocals that has made many a garage/psych rock fan's ears experience sonic bliss. That's a lofty statement, but the trio of musicians have been critical darlings since they first began making music. Now they are back in the spotlight with their long-awaited debut record III.
It's been three years since the band formed, and you would be hard-pressed to not have seen Is/Is perform in town since then. Their schedule has been one of the busiest among local musicians, and it's bound to get filled up even more quickly. III is a fully realized vision for the two Sarahs and Annie, a culmination of rock craftsmanship that should get them the attention they finally deserve.
Songs performed: "Jealous Sea," "Loose Skin," and "Fire"
