New Zealand-native Ella Yelich-O'Connor, who uses the stage name Lorde, climbs to the top spot this week

Another Chart Show first: The Number One artist is still in high school! Lorde, also known as Ella Yelich-O'Connor, took some time off recently though — remember it's NOT summer in New Zealand where she's from! Her first trip to the States garnered good reviews of her live performance. She stopped at KCRW in Santa Monica for an in-studio, too.

Only a little older is Nottingham native Jake Bugg at #2; he sounded wise beyond his years when he did a session for us and told great stories about his guitar shopping!

Ezra Koenig from Vampire Weekend has a DJ career in his future judging by the Theft of the Dial he put together with Jill Riley of The Current's Morning Show. Funnily enough, Koenig might have been looking for a new job this time last year as I read that the band almost split up before finishing their latest album, Modern Vampires of the City. Good they didn't as it's seen them explode in popularity.

Submit your Chart Show ballot for a chance to see Iron & Wine perform in the First Avenue mainroom on September 18.

Daft Punk obviously made a mistake in NOT showing up for The Colbert Report, dropping four places this week. Wonder if they WILL show at the MTV Video Music Awards this Sunday?

The only new entry this week is another young Brit, Laura Marling, who talked with us about her massive guitar collection when she stopped by last week.

And The Suburbs, our Minnesota Artists of the Month, are the highest mover, getting us pumped for the really big show at The Grandstand this year!

Step right up and say hi when you visit the Fair!
