Brand new #1!! Arctic Monkeys, for the first week ever in the last week of their run as they're inducted to the Chart Show Hall of Fame. Next Tuesday they start the UK league of their world tour in Newcastle, a big football town with a long tradition. If you follow English Premier League soccer, as The Monkeys do, check out my new weekly blog On the Ball!

Daft Punk are also inducted to the Hall of Fame and this week they were among the many bands rumored to be headlining NEXT year's Glastonbury Festival, which has already sold out. So was Prince?!?!?!

Submit your Chart Show ballot this week for a chance to win tickets to My Bloody Valentine's performance at Roy Wilkins Auditorium on Nov. 1!

The final inductees, Volcano Choir will play their sold out show at First Avenue on Friday. Wonder if they or Bon Iver will ever make it to THE R'N'R Hall of Fame... The Replacements might?!?!?

Dessa jumps up a bit from #17 to #13. She did a great interview with Andrea this week about her band's robbery in Buffalo, NY. Channy from Polica, who is steadily moving up the chart, will be involved in a very cool show at the Fitz on Friday.

There were a few weird moves on this chart, NONONO falling six places from the top, for example. This might be explained by the number of ballots submitted being about half the average. This week we've been concentrating on our Member Drive, and this is a perfect example of how the quality of the programming is directly affected by the level of engagement by you, our listeners. Just as the Chart Show suffers from fewer votes, so do we if Minnesota Public Radio doesn't meet our member goal. If we don't make 10,000 of you members, we might not be able to sustain the level of service that you have come to expect from us. It's as simple as that. So please vote for the Chart EVERY week. Don't think someone else will do it for you. And if you can help with a contribution in any amount, that would be AWESOME!!

Thanks for your support. We can't do it without you.
