The highest mover on the chart this week is the #1! Fans of Jake Bugg are getting excited about his appearance at First Avenue on Friday and elevated him to the top for the first time in Chart history. He'll stop by Minnesota Public Radio's Forum to do a session for us earlier that afternoon which we'll broadcast on my show Jan. 28 at 6 p.m.

One of the feel good music stories of the year involves Sharon Jones, who goes up a healthy seven places. Her new album Give The People What They Want comes out this week and is our CD of the Week. She had to postpone its release last summer to battle cancer and is back on the road in Feb. arriving at the State Theatre on April 9.

This week, vote for your chance to win tickets to both nights of The Current's 9th Birthday Party on Jan. 24 and 25 in the First Avenue mainroom!

J. Roddy Walston at #8 this week was one of the break out artists of 2013. They're now reaping the rewards with a big gig supporting Red Hot Chili Peppers at the new stadium in Brooklyn and will be playing Coachella in April. They make crazy videos, too.

We lost Jeff Tweedy and St. Vincent after only a week, The Preatures were inducted to the Chart Show Hall of Fame and Valerie June ended her four week run. New entries for The Head and the Heart, with the second hit from their new record Let's Be Still on Sub Pop. They were also named on the Coachella lineup last week. Elvis and the Roots refuse to be saved at #16 and also refuse to play many gigs together, they're just too busy elsewhere! Best Coast are back after three weeks off the Chart.

Brand new entry for the very first time on our Chart comes from the tiny band that can from Cardiff Wales, Los Campesinos! They only have four gigs in the USA lined up so far, Boston, NYC, D.C. and Chicago's Metro club on Jan. 25. Worth a road trip? Avacado baby!

If you don't want to drive eight hours there and back that day, there's still a few tickets left for our Saturday Birthday Party at First Avenue featuring this week's #4 Caroline Smith. Thanks to everyone for selling out the Friday show!
