It's never been easy to classify the music of Claudia Schmidt. In fact, her website biography section has two tabs: "Folk Bio" and "Jazz Bio". And if you've heard her in concert you'd probably consider adding a "World Bio" tab as well (or "Whirled", if you will).

Claudia Schmidt has released her 19th album this spring, her sixth for Red House Records. New Whirled Order is a collection of 12 new, original songs, plus one she co-wrote with guitarist Dean Magraw.

Claudia, Dean and percussionist Marc Anderson stopped by the Radio Heartland studio in advance of their Twin Cities CD release show, which happens March 26 at The Dakota in Minneapolis.

Songs performed

"Nothing"
"Longing"
"Already"

Claudia Schmidt: vocals, guitar, dulcimer
Dean Magraw: guitar
Marc Anderson: percussion
