MPR News Arts Reporter and Cube Critic Euan Kerr joins Steve Seel and Jade to talk about director Michael Bay's latest installment in the Transformers franchise.

The film stars Mark Wahlberg as the father of a 17-year-old daughter (Nicola Peltz), and the story picks up five years after the conclusion of the last film, which left Chicago in ruins.

"It's the most over the top, cliché-ridden, product-placement larded, completely preposterous movie," Euan says, "and I must admit, it was so over the top, I just sat there and howled with laughter. It's completely ridiculous."

Listen to the audio above to hear Euan's complete (and quite hilarious) review. Euan also reveals how the film explains what made the dinosaurs go away.

Transformers 4: Age of Extinction is rated PG-13 for sci-fi violence and action, language and brief innuendo. It is playing at theaters everywhere.

MPR's Movie Maven, Stephanie Curtis, joins The Current's Morning Show to talk about films every Friday at 8:30 a.m.
