MPR Graphic / Tracy Kompelien

Earlier this morning we were discussing an article about the "the" in band names, or the lack of a "the". The article claimed that "the" started showing up in band names after the 1920s and has been popular ever since. We were discussing what bands often confuse us as to whether they have a "the" or not.

What bands are you never sure if they have a "the" or not? We'll dedicate today's 9:30 Coffee Break to the confusing definite article.

Songs Played:

Pixies - "Wave of Mutilation"

Arcade Fire - "Ready To Start"

Ramones - "Rock 'N' Roll High School"

EELS - "Fresh Blood"

The Pretenders - "Show Me"

Grateful Dead - "Sugar Magnolia"

Scorpions - "Big City Nights"
