9:30 Coffee Break: Fall is Here
September 22, 2014
Well, you may have felt it in the air the last few day, but it's official: Summer is over. Yep, today is the first day of Fall (officially at 9:29pm CST). The word equinox comes from the Latin words for "equal night." The fall and spring equinoxes are the only days of the year in which the Sun crosses the celestial equator.
From here on out, the temperatures begin to drop and the days start to get shorter than the nights. What songs do you want to hear for the Autumnal Equinox?
Songs Played:
Simon and Garfunkel - "A Hazy Shade of Winter"
Earth, Wind and Fire - "September"
Big Star - "September Gurls"
Nat King Cole - "Autumn Leaves"
Yo La Tengo - "Autumn Sweater"
Paul Westerberg - "Love You in the Fall"
Just a few more days to enter to win a Coffee Break on the Road. Jill and Steve want to bring you a treat or two from Gigi's Cafe, and some live music from local band Tropical Depression. Let us know why you deserve a Coffee Break: CoffeeBreak@TheCurrent.org
