Big week for Hozier! He holds on to the top spot for a second week and will be the musical guest on Saturday Night Live this weekend! He has already sold out his first Minnesota show at First Avenue on Feb. 20. For those of you lucky enough to get tickets, don't be fashionably late as he is bringing Icelandic artist Asgeir as his opening act. He stopped by our studios with his full to record a session earlier this year.

Submit your Chart Show ballot this week for a chance to win tickets to the Black Keys/Jake Bugg show at the Target Center on Friday, Oct. 24!

alt-J went straight to #1 in the UK sales chart last week with the release of their new album, This Is All Yours. The record debuted at #4 in the U.S. Last week it was announced that they will headline Madison Square Garden on March 30 of next year. With a seating capacity of 18,200, this is a massive step up for the young band with only two records under their belt.

Holding steady at #4 with her buddy Caroline Smith, Lizzo also had a big TV date this week playing the Late Show with David Letterman on Tuesday. That's three Minnesotan musicians playing the show this year after Jeremy Messersmith and Trampled By Turtles.

The Black Keys are inducted to our Hall of Fame for a record-setting ninth time ending their stay at a respectable #6 after almost falling off the Chart two weeks ago!

Robert Plant keeps going up with "Rainbow" off his Lullaby and... The Ceaseless Roar. The Current's Program Director Jim McGuinn and Music Director David Safar got to see him perform at Chicago's Riviera Theatre and were very impressed with the live show. They said Plant was charming to talk, too! He expressed how much fun he was having on this tour and that he might come back around to play the Twin Cities in the near future!

TV on the Radio are the highest new entry with "Happy Idiot," the first song shared from their new album, Seeds, out Nov. 18 via Harvest Records, the label that Morrissey is currently "in dispute with." They just debuted the album's second track "Careful You" via Pitchfork.

Mike Doughty returns with "Light Will Keep Your Heart Beating in the Future," a track from his crowd funded album Stellar Motel. He's playing two shows at the Dakota Jazz Club on Nov. 22.

Doomtree got a little bump up this week, probably as a result of all the noise they were making around the announce of their biggest (and last) Blowout ever! Some of the shows have already sold out. Check their blog for updates and get a peak at Dessa's new haircut! Dessa points out that she often donates her locks to Wigs for Kids after wrapping up a big project.

New at #18 is another local noise maker, Prince, who celebrated a duo record release with 3RDEYEGIRL last week. PLECTRUMELECTRUM and ART OFFICIAL AGE are The Current's Albums of the Week. What a great thank you gift to to receive when you become a member of Minnesota Public Radio! We need to make our goal of 10,000 members by tomorrow at 7 p.m., so please donate today!

Finally, Delta Spirit have been bubbling under for the past few weeks. Perhaps their live performance on Letterman last week helped them into the all important #20 spot!
