The New Pornographers make it to the top of The Current's chart this week ahead of their show at First Avenue next Wednesday, Nov. 12! They are still tickets available and they will have the full compliment of stars aligned in their ranks including A.C. Newman, Neko Case and Dan Bejar (Destroyer).

Submit your Chart Show ballot for a chance to win tickets to Lucinda Williams' show at First Avenue on Sunday, Nov. 30!

Inducted into the Chart Show Hall of Fame this week are Weezer and Doomtree, who have sold out their massive and final Blowout coming in December. On Friday, Dec. 12, The Current is hosting an exclusive Doomtree performance in Minnesota Public Radio's Forum. Keep your eyes peeled and ears open for details on how to win tickets in the coming weeks!

alt-J climb up to #2 after visiting us on Halloween. Check out the acoustic version of
"Every Other Freckle" with video from their in-studio session.

Robert Plant climbs another five places as we dig deeper into the new lullaby and ... the Ceaseless Roar — it's The Current's Album of the Week. I think sounds just like what Led Zeppelin fan would want a new album to sound like. Read what Program Director Jim McGuinn thinks of the record.

Minneapolis' own Chastity Brown made her way up five places, too. Add her to the amazing string of local musicians that have performed on major TV shows this year (beside Jeremy Messersmith, the Replacements, Lizzo). She recently graced the stage of perhaps the most respected show in England hosted by Jools Holland.

The War on Drugs are our highest new entry this week. Perhaps their fans are voting in support of the ongoing public spat with Mark Kozelak, which is getting a little ugly.

TV on the Radio's new album Seeds doesn't release until Nov. 18 but they've started touring over in the UK where the reliably knowledgeable Guardian reviewed their show as one for the fans, with a few tears.

Sam Smith returns on a wave of ticket buying insanity. He just sold out his first headlining show at Madison Square Garden. Tickets are still available for his show at Roy Wilkins Auditorium on Saturday, Jan. 24.

Lorde bounces back this week after a one week hiatus. Another video of the wunderkind's formative performance years has emerged — she covered Kings of Leon's "Use Somebody" at the age of 12??!?
