In this age where there are fewer and fewer musical acts that Americans share a common love for, it gets harder all the time to schedule a universally agreed, awesome guest for the Super Bowl halftime. This year, Katy Perry and Lenny Kravitz are the guests. Do these choices get you fired up or leave you flat?

So here's a question: In an alternate universe — where massive, million-selling, mainstream pop culture familiarity and success weren't the prerequisites — what bands or artists would simply make amazing, awesome Super Bowl halftime performers, purely by virtue of their awesomeness? Who would just put on a great show and bring America's collective house down?

That's our question for today's 9:30 Coffee Break. All other things being equal, who would be your fantasy Super Bowl halftime act?
