MPR's Movie Maven Stephanie Curtis joins Steve Seel and Jill Riley to talk about a new thriller starring Jude Law.

Law plays a guy who worked for a maritime salvage company but lost his job. He's unsure what to do until one of his friends says there is a wreck filled with gold in the Black Sea. They put together a ragtag crew and surreptitiously go after the gold.

Although aspects of the story are telegraphed well in advance, Stephanie says it didn't prevent her from enjoying the film. "I loved it. It was fun and dark and tense," she says. "And I like the claustrophobia of a submarine movie.

"It's a movie for grown-ups that's fun, really tense, and decently made."

Listen to the complete audio to hear all of Stephanie's review, along with a discussion of favorite titles in the elusive submarine genre: Das Boot, Crimson Tide, The Hunt for Red October. The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou, Yellow Submarine.

Black Sea is rated R and is playing in theaters everywhere.
