Earlier this morning on Throbbing Hive, Wits' host John Moe told us about smart TVs that capture and transmit our conversations to an unspecified third party.

Because our devices are evidently listening to us, let's do a Coffee Break they'd probably enjoy: So we're asking for songs that reference technology. It can be old or new technology — gadgets, gizmos, devices, machines … whatever tech references come to mind is fair game.

For today's 9:30 Coffee Break, what songs that name-drop technology would you like to hear?

Songs Played

The Flaming Lips - "Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots Pt. 1"

Electric Light Orchestra - "Telephone Line"

Darkel - "TV Destroy"

Lou Reed - "Satellite of Love"

Kraftwerk - "Pocket Calculator"

Do you deserve a Coffee Break? Jill and Steve think you do and want to bring treats from Gigi's Café to your workplace. You'll also be treated to the music of local singer-songwriter Chris Koza! Send us an email: CoffeeBreak@thecurrent.org.
