It's Saint Patrick's Day, a day that is a celebration of Irish culture and heritage, not only in the Republic of Ireland, but throughout the Irish diaspora around the world — particularly in Great Britain, Canada, the United States, Argentina, Australia and New Zealand.

Right here in St. Paul, a St. Patrick's Day parade commences at noon, organized by participants who proudly commemorate their Irish heritage.

With all these celebrations going on, we're shaping today's Coffee Break in the spirit of St. Patrick's Day; specifically, we're thinking about artists who are from Ireland or who claim Irish roots.

So for today's 9:30 Coffee Break, what songs by artists who are Irish or who have Irish heritage do you want to hear? Send us your requests.

Songs Played

Elvis Costello and the Attractions - "Green Shirt"
Flogging Molly - "Screaming at the Wailing Wall"
House of Pain - "Jump Around"
Kate Bush - "Hounds of Love"
Thin Lizzy - "The Boys are Back in Town"
