Jem and the Holograms, the "truly outrageous" fictional band who brought rock 'n' roll to the TV screens of millions of '80s kids, are coming to the big screen in a live-action film that will hit theaters this December. A first trailer for the film has been released, and we've posted it in Today's Music News.

The Jem story reminds us that many bands have been animated. No, we aren't talking about cartoon bands, but real live bands that have been put into cartoons. The Simpsons, for example, has done this frequently, and many musicians have also appeared on Scooby-doo or even in their own cartoon specials.

So for today's 9:30 Coffee Break, what songs do you want to hear by bands who have been animated? When you give your request, be sure to tell us where your artist appeared in animated form.

Songs Played

Sleater-Kinney "A New Wave"
Trampled by Turtles "Walt Whitman"
Beck "Where It's At"
Radiohead "Creep"
