Every Tuesday at 7:30am Wits host John Moe stops into the Morning Show to share the latest news in Technology.

This week, John Moe stopped by The Current's Morning Show to talk to Jade (in for Jill Riley) and Sean McPherson about a new photo-storage service from Google, and a very soothing live walrus cam.

1. Google Photos: a new app/service for pics and video is getting rave reviews

"It's kind of an offshoot of a service that's been part of Google Plus for a while," John explains. "It's available on Web, on Android, on iOS. It's basically a way to store your photos so they don't clog up your device all the time."

Storage is free for the time being (Google says it has no plans to monetize the service at present), and it comes equipped with Google search function, making it easy to reference your photos in storage. "The tradeoff [is] you're giving Google your life," John says. "You're giving Google all the photos of your life and giving them unlimited access to it. If that's creepy to you, maybe think twice."

2. Live walrus cam will make you serene

"There are a few things that really define the Internet," John says. "Sometimes it's just something you didn't know you needed until you saw it, such as a live online webcam of a bunch of walruses lying around."

This feed comes from Round Island, Alaska, "Where thousands and thousands of male walruses are lying around sunning themselves and being walruses while the ladies are off raising the kids," John explains. "This is Walrus Man Island. I can't explain why it's so soothing to see these walruses lying around just doing nothing."

But it is.
