This morning on Random Vinyl, we spun "I Just Want to Celebrate," a track by Rare Earth, and it got us thinking about the periodic table of elements. How many symbols do you remember? Pb? Au? Or how about K?

You don't have to remember what those letters stand for, but it got us thinking about how many bands, songs and artist names include references to the periodic table of elements. (Need a refresher? There's no shame in it; visit Wikipedia's Periodic Table page.)

So for today's Coffee Break, we're asking: What songs do you want to hear that reference the periodic table either in the song title or the artist name? Send us your requests.

Songs Played

Carbon/Silicon "The News"
Black Sabbath "Iron Man"
Nirvana "Lithium"
They Might be Giants "Meet the Elements"
Freda Payne "Band of Gold"
Foxygen "Shuggie"

Do you deserve a Coffee Break? We at The Current's Morning Show think you do, and we want to bring treats from Morningstar Coffee and Café Latté to your workplace. Let us know why you'd like a Coffee Break.
