MPR News Arts Reporter and Cube Critic Euan Kerr joins Jill Riley and Sean McPherson to talk about the latest installment in the "Mission: Impossible" franchise. The film stars Tom Cruise, Rebecca Ferguson and Simon Pegg. It's directed by Christopher McQuarrie.
The story finds the Impossible Missions force in disgrace and in fact, disbanded. But soon, it's revealed that the Syndicate — the anti-IMF — is behind the latest international malfeasance. It's up to our heroes to save the day.
"The action starts and then goes nonstop for two hours," Euan says. "It is brilliant summer fun."
Euan particularly calls out the performance of Rebecca Ferguson, who plays the mysterious character, Ilse Faust, saying any future Mission: Impossible films couldn't be made without her. Euan also tips his hat to Tom Cruise for performing his own stunts.
