Fire
Here's a fire ... does it lack desire?

On Aug. 18, we had a look at a common couplet in songwriting: rhyming the words "fire" and "desire." Today, we're going to look at a specific construction involving just one of those words.

The forecast for the Twin Cities this afternoon looks like it's going to be a hot one, with the highest heat indices around 95 in the afternoon. If you're heading out to the fairgrounds, you might say it's gonna be "on fire."

And it turns out there are a lot of songs out there that use the phrase "on fire." Not just "fire" alone, but specifically, "on fire."

So for today's Coffee Break, what songs do you want to hear that use the phrase "on fire" in the title or lyrics. Send us your requests.

Songs Played

Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros "Man on Fire"
Modest Mouse "Lampshades on Fire"
