9:30 Coffee Break: Songs for Running
by Jill Riley and Sean McPherson
October 02, 2015
Many long-distance runners will be waking early this Sunday, Oct. 4, for the running of the 34th Twin Cities Marathon. Approximately 12,000 runners are expected to participate in the 26-mile race, and another 10,000 will compete in the Twin Cities 10-Mile.
A lot of attention is put on carb loading, proper stretching and adequate rest as we approach marathon weekend — but what about the music? Let's put together a playlist to motivate runners as they get ready for the big marathon on Sunday.
So for today's 9:30 Coffee Break, what songs do you want to hear that mention "run," "running" or "feet"? Send us your requests.
Songs Played
Dirty Dozen Brass Band "My Feet Can't Fail Me Now"
Bruce Springsteen "Born to Run"
Kate Bush "Running Up That Hill"
Junior Senior "Move Your Feet"
A Flock of Seagulls "I Ran (So Far Away)"
