Hot-air balloon enthusiasts from around the United States and from more than 20 countries have gathered in New Mexico for the week-long Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta. This year marks the 44th year of the festival, and it runs Oct. 3 to 11. The first year of this year's fiesta saw more than 550 hot-air balloons take flight over the New Mexico landscape.

The theme of this year's Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta is "Where Dreams Take Flight." It's an inspiring theme, and it's one that extends beyond hot-air balloon festivals. In music, for example, references to taking flight, to flying or to floating on air have certainly found their way into a lot of songs.

So for today's 9:30 Coffee Break, what songs do you want to hear that mention flight, flying or floating? Send us your requests.

Songs Played

Modest Mouse "Float On"
The Faces "Flying"
Mavis Staples and Lucky Peterson "I'll Fly Away From Here"
Foo Fighters "Learn to Fly"
Jimi Hendrix "You Got Me Floatin'"
