It's Oct. 27, which is Navy Day in the United States. In 1922, the Navy League of the United States chose Oct. 27 as the date to recognize the U.S. Navy because it was the birthday of President Theodore Roosevelt, who was a naval enthusiast.

Because it's Navy Day, we're thinking about how there are many songs that mention boats, ships, a navy or the sea.

So for today's Coffee Break, what songs do you want to hear that are about boats, ships or other maritime themes? Send us your requests.

Songs Played

Village People "In The Navy"
Split Enz "Six Months in a Leaky Boat"
The Beach Boys "Sloop John B"
Modest Mouse "Missed the Boat"
Lyle Lovett "If I Had a Boat"
The Beatles "Yellow Submarine"
