9:30 Coffee Break: A moment of zen on the road
by Anna Reed
November 30, 2015
In the words of Sean McPherson, "it's on folks". The snow is falling, the roads are slick and we're on the lookout for the Prince Lever to be pulled when one inch of snow has accumulated at Paisley Park. When the lever is pulled it starts an all-out Prince marathon on our Local Current stream of Minnesota music.
As we all try to remember what it's like to drive on slick roads, we at The Morning Show would like to bring a little zen to your commute whether you are currently on the road or are gearing up for your commute at the end of the day.
So for today's 9:30 Coffee Break, what songs do you want to hear that mention the words "calm" or "still" or give off a generally zen vibe? Send us your requests.
And when you're driving out there today, remember to do as Mark Wheat says: "Stay safe and be peaceful to one another."
Songs Played
The Shins "New Slang"
The Head and the Heart "Let's Be Still"
Israel Kamakawiwo'ole "Somewhere Over The Rainbow / What A Wonderful World"
My Morning Jacket "Wonderful (The Way I Feel)"
The Rolling Stones "Cool, Calm and Collected"
Enya "Orinoco Flow"
Do you deserve a Coffee Break? We at The Current's Morning Show think you do, and we want to bring treats from Black: Coffee and Waffle Bar to your workplace. Let us know why you'd like a Coffee Break.
