MPR News Arts Reporter Marianne Combs joins Jade and Sean McPherson to talk about three happenings in the local art world.

Here's the rundown:

Drawings/Paintings — At the Rosalux Gallery, artists Valerie Jenkins and Laura Stack delve into abstraction as a means of understanding the mysteries of life and the dynamics of culture.

Dear World — At Open Book and Bedlam, a Ten Thousand Things production about a group of eccentrics and outcasts that band together to thwart the plans of evil businessmen who are plotting to extract oil from the land under the city's streets and cafes.

Lullaby — At The Ritz Theater, a world premier from Theater Latte Da about a widowed young mother seeking guitar lessons from a once almost-famous rocker. Featuring the music of national recording artists Garrison Starr and Chris Dallman.

Marianne Combs joins The Current's Morning Show for the Weekend Arts Roundup every Thursday at 8:30 a.m. Read all the latest arts news from MPR News.
