David Bowie gets his second posthumous No.1

David Bowie is our new No.1! Much as I like the guy, I never thought I would write that! Even more impressive is that he also has the best selling album in the U.K. and U.S. this week.
Believe it or not, that's the first time ever. In the U.K., 19 of his albums made it into the Top 100 and nine made it into the Billboard Top 200. It's the first time a posthumous release has been No.1 since Michael Jackson's This Is It soundtrack. Which leaves us asking the question: Is there anyone else left in the music world who would garner this level of admiration upon dying?

Submit your Chart Show ballot this week for a chance to win tickets to Babes in Toyland at First Avenue on Saturday, Jan. 30!

CHVRCHES are the first inductees to the 2016 Hall of Fame! This week they were announced as one of the acts playing Bonnaroo's 15th festival along with LCD Soundsystem, Pearl Jam and Minnesota's very own Lizzo!

There's still some legs on that Alabama Shakes album: the fourth song from Sound & Color to chart is up six spots to No.6. Brittany of the band is one of the nominations for artists we could celebrate for Black History Month, but we need your help to decide who is featured in February!

Three of the bands that will help us celebrate our 11th birthday this weekend are on the chart: Bad Bad Hats, John Mark Nelson and Gramma's Boyfriend, who may surprise you!

First she gets a Grammy nomination, now Elle King has a troop of Girl Scouts singing her songs! Speaking of the Grammys, it was just announced that at least two of our chart denizens will be performing at the Feb. 15 awards: Kendrick Lamar and Adele who, along with the Weekend, received the most nominations.

Female vocalists are the majority on the chart for, I think, the first time ever?! Jess and Holly of Lucius seem to be doubling down on the "looking the same" with stunning new hair and fashions to match their lovely harmonies. Another track from the new album due in March was released last week to the web.

Polica's three shows in the Twin Cities in March have already all sold out! Before those gig they'll head to play Berlin, London and NYC within a span of eight days to get warmed up for their huge American tour!

Hope you're staying warm! It'll be milder this weekend, so come down to First Avenue to celebrate local music and The Current's 11th birthday! If you see me bald head in the crowd don't be afraid to say hi, and I'll give you a hug!
