A couple of area singer-songwriters have teamed up recently to form a new duo. Besides doing their own thing, Molly Dean and Barbara Jean are now playing out as a duo called "Dusty Heart."

Barbara and Molly met as musicians often do — being in the same venue at the same time — and they not only became friends but found that their voices blend beautifully. They also share common friendships within the Minnesota music scene, and they soon found enough support to start playing out as "a thing."

Although both Barbara and Molly have recordings out as solo artists, there are no duo recordings available yet. Dusty Heart are in the midst of a series of shows, opening for Jeffrey Foucault, and they found time to stop in and give us a sample of their music.
