Tomorrow is Saturday, April 16 — Record Store Day. It's a global celebration of independent record stores, the unique culture of a record store and the special role these independently owned stores play in their communities.

Naturally, we at The Current are really excited about Record Store Day. Tomorrow, a number of us will be heading out in The Current van to stop by a number of Twin Cities record stores, including Mill City Music, the Electric Fetus, Flashlight Vinyl, Barely Brothers, Hymies Vintage Vinyl and others. Look for us if you're out record shopping, and be sure to say hello!

But in the build-up to tomorrow's record-shopping safari, we started thinking about songs that reference records and things related to records.

So for today's 9:30 Coffee Break, what songs do you want to hear that mention vinyl, records, wax, 45s, turntables and so forth? Send us your requests.

Songs Played

Where It's At - Beck
Pump Up the Volume - M/A/R/R/S
I Love Rock 'n' Roll - Joan Jett and the Blackhearts

Big 10-Inch Record - Bull Moose Jackson
