On April 28 at 7:30 a.m. our No.1 artist, Courtney Barnett, will perform The Current studio with Oake and Riley in the Morning. She played two sold out shows at First Avenue this week with Bully opening. Their session was cool, too.

Submit your Chart Show ballot this week for a chance to win tickets to Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeroes and Preservation Hall Jazz Band at the Surly Brewing Festival Field on Friday, May 20!

Lissie was in town recently, too. She got inducted to the Hall of Fame for the second time; Hippo Campus are in for their fourth; and Iggy Pop makes his debut! A new book about his early days in the Stooges will be released by Jack White's Third Man Books label.

Tickets are still available for the Lumineers' show on June 14 at Roy Wilkins Auditorium. They bounced back up 13 places this week, so they should hold on for another week to be inducted. Their new Cleopatra is our Album of the Week and seems to have a theme of women's names.

Jake Bugg bounces back on to the chart at No.12 after a week's hiatus. His album comes out in June and has a slew of festival gigs planned around the world this summer but only has two U.S. gigs booked so far: San Francisco in June and Portland in September!

Fitz and the Tantrums, brand new this week, also have a busy summer of touring ahead. No gig scheduled in the Twin Cities, so you'll have to go to Summerfest in Milwaukee. Their new self-titled release is out June 10. This "HandClap" song seems to be the totem of the album with merchandise featuring a "neon-inscribed hand" available with pre-orders.

Sturgill Simpson sold 10 times as many copies of his new album in its first week than he did for his first. That made it the No.3 on Billboard's chart, only bettered by two of Prince's! He'll get some consolation June 5 when he stops by the Purple One's old haunt for a sold out show!

Thanks to all the listeners who contributed to our Purple Reign celebration of the life of
Prince. I am still sending shout-outs across the globe this week to as many of you as I can.
Coldpay, Liz Phair and Billy Corgan, amoung others I'm sure, joined in the tributes this week. Our amazing digital team has written some awesome articles about him and his local impact. Pitchfork meanwhile did a good job detailing his battles with the recording industry. And in London a mural artist who has already commemorated Bowie and Amy is working on a new work of art.
