On the heels of their acclaimed 2014 album trIllIun, local duo Fort Wilson Riot have announced a new EP.

City of Eyes will be released on June 17, with a release show to follow July 1 at the 7th Street Entry. The five-song EP will be released digitally as well as on a 12" split vinyl (from local label Blood of the Young) with Pornonono — who are also on the bill for the EP release show.

It's an apt pairing, as lead single "How Do We Go" finds Fort Wilson Riot into a pop direction that's sunnier — and synthier — than ever. Above, enjoy this new single, which is being released today.

"How do we go about love?" ask the band. "Being loved, feeling love, giving love. What happens if our thirst for love exceeds our ability to provide love? Does love stand on its own or is it purely a human construction? Romantic love is, most definitely, one of our misguided and inadequate inventions, but what about that deep biological desire to connect with the world around us? To create and nurture lasting social bonds? Can we agree to define this as true love? Is it possible that this well may run dry because our desire to receive love exceeds our ability to give love? Let's hope not. Let's hope that its source is a deep endless river."
