We've been lucky with the weather for our big outdoor shows so far this year, but the upper northwest at the weekend saw several major cancellations, the biggest being Governors Ball in NYC which resulted in a near riot as Kanye West tried to play a make up gig in a small venue. The Mountain Jam in upstate New York also rained out, so our No.1 unexpectedly had the day off. But they'll be at Target Center this Saturday with Brandi Carlile, which should stay dry!

Submit your Chart Show ballot this week for a chance to win tickets to the Beer Dabbler at Pride in Loring Park on Friday, June 24!

Displaced No.1 Har Mar Superstar had much better luck with the weather in Barcelona for the massive Primavera Sound festival. Check out his Golf Cart Confessional where he looks forward to spending more time mowing his new lawn in NordEast!

Another former No.1, Lizzo, and No.4, Nathaniel Rateliff, will be at our big Rock the Garden festival next Saturday at Boom Island with GRRRL PRTY and the Night Sweats respectively. Let's hope the weather treats us well!

Chance The Rapper will also be there. He slipped down to No.13 this week but might get a bump up as we celebrate his new Coloring Book as our Album of the Week.

Sturgill Simpson jumps seven places after a stirring concert at First Avenue. City Pages' review makes the unlikely comparison to Chance's buddy Kanye.

Sweet that Band of Horses are the highest new entry this week as Ben Bridwell of the band sent a special dedication to his bride Elizabeth this week via a Global Shout Out! They met on June 6 ten years ago at the band's first headlining gig in the 7th St. Entry! We broke the rules and played a non-Minnesota artist for the feature Monday night, because as Ben put it:

One pivotal "powering thru" type of night, we were driving in a rental car discussing some heavy business. George Harrison's song "Blow Away" came on The Current and our conversation ceased to a halt. Listening intently, that song did its work by saying words wiser than we could have conjured. It was like the song was telling our story and giving us advice for our future.

The band's new album Why Are You OK arrives this Friday.

The Staves are also new at No.18, buoyed by their sold out show at the Cedar Cultural Center. Read about their great performance and which famous musicians were there to see them. If you missed that gig you can see them again at Eaux Claires this summer.

Margaret Glaspy is the final new entry this week. She started her musical career in Boston at the Berklee Music School and is releasing her debut on ATO Records in September around the time she'll appear at Festival Palomino in Canterbury Park. She'll also be at Bonnaroo this weekend, as will our own DJ Jade hosting shows on Thursday, Friday and Saturday live from the festival.

The Claypool Lennon Delirium have just started their tour (which stops at Bonnaroo, too). They hit the Skyway Theater June 15. Apparently they have been covering the Beatles and Pink Floyd!
