Lizzo bounces back to the top for the second week, so we have the No.1 artist playing at our big Rock the Garden gig this weekend! She's just announced that it will be the last gig ever for GRRRL PRTY as they amicably split to follow their own career paths.
Submit your Chart Show ballot this week for a chance to win three-day passes to Pitchfork Music Festival!
No.2, the highest mover this week, will also be at the Boom Island gig. Chance The Rapper might not bring his buddy Kanye with him, but Mr. West has just announced a huge U.S. tour including the Xcel Energy Center on Oct. 10.
Maybe Har Mar Superstar will walk down to Rock the Garden from his new home in NordEast and celebrate being inducted to the Hall of Fame for the very first time! He was on the telly in France at the weekend, sounding, he says, like Sir Rod Stewart!?
Radiohead continue their inexorable rise, up to No.4 after four weeks on the chart. While Thom was busy playing his neighbor's garden party, guitarist Johnny Greenwood was doing a long podcast interview explaining the band's decision making process.
Last week's No.1 dropped down to No.5, but the Avett Brothers and Brandi Carlile proved a winning combination at Target Center at the weekend. Our reviewer Cecilia Johnson summed it up as a stirring amalgam of Brandi's grace and power and the Avett's "incredible fun"!
Another big rise, up 10 places, for the Claypool Lennon Delirium who play the Skyway Theatre tonight hot off a well-received set at Bonnaroo which saw them cover the Beatle's "Tomorrow Never Knows" and Pink Floyd's "Astronomy Domine"!
RHCP are back! As the highest new entry at No.12, they are keeping up with how to get their word out by doing Carpool Karaoke with James Corden, the night after he had hosted the Tony Awards. Their shared love of musicals had an Oliver! song in the mix along with some of their biggest hits.
Glass Animals are also back with a track from the forthcoming album How to Be a Human. They're playing London tonight at the start of a massive world tour which comes to the Myth in Maplewood on Oct 7.
BORNS is new too at No.15. He was one of the acts that Jade interviewed last week at Bonnaroo.
case/lang/veirs have been bubbling under for several weeks and manage to grab hold of the basement spot at No.20 with the first single released from their new self-titled debut which is our Album of the Week.
See you at Boom Island on Saturday, and don't be afraid to say hi if you see my sticky bald head, protected by my brand new white fedora!
