Now that Billboard takes into account streaming of new albums, the Weeknd is at the top of their chart this week. But our No.1, the xx, are right behind them and actually sold more copies than any other album – they're the old school No.1!

Submit your Chart Show ballot this week for a chance to win tickets to Run the Jewels at the Myth on Feb. 14, 2017!

I wish we had trophies to hand out for getting into the Hall of Fame, then I could award one to Haley Bonar when I introduce her Saturday night as the final act of The Current's two-night 12th birthday celebration this weekend at First Avenue. It's a long induction list this week with big names: A Tribe Called Quest, Leonard Cohen and the Shins.

Our 2017 Rock the Garden headliner Bon Iver is the highest new entry with the third track from 22, A Million to chart. No further news from their camp since canceling the European tour which was due to start this week. Past Rock the Garden guests are also back on as the other new entry, and there's a lot of news from the Spoon camp: the new album Hot Thoughts will be out March 17 and they'll start their tour at the massive SXSW Music Festival in their hometown of Austin, TX.

Biggest upward mover this week is Dead Man Winter, the solo project of Trampled By Turtles lead mean Dave Simonett. He and his band will start a national tour up in Lutsen on Feb. 3 as a part of the GNDWIRE Records Ski Party and hit First Avenue on Feb. 10.

Margaret Glaspy was in town last week opening the Lumineers at the Target Center and stopped by The Current studio that afternoon to perform and chat with Jade who remarked that she likes the "signature growl" in Glaspy's voice, not something that was deliberately cultivated, apparently.

Ty Segall and Japandroids have their albums coming out this Friday but you can stream Ty Segall and Near to the Wild Heart of Life now on our website!
