Over the weekend, Pearl Jam announced that they would be inviting all of their drummers — current drummer Matt Cameron, along with all who preceded him — to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony. "Dave Krusen, Matt Chamberlain, Dave Abbruzzese and Jack Irons are each individually great players who gave their all to the early recordings and live gigs," the band said in a statement. "Looking forward to seeing them and all the other musicians on the bill." The group will be inducted on Apr. 7, along with Journey, Joan Baez, ELO, Yes and Tupac Shakur. (Rolling Stone)

Wilco is having a sale... and you can buy some of their gear

Wilco is running into storage problems at The Loft — the band's rehearsal space and recording studio — and fans could benefit from the sale. In a statement, frontman Jeff Tweedy said, "Every once in a while we look around the loft and say 'Geez, there's just too much stuff up here.' To make some room (for more great stuff!) we're partnering with our friends at Reverb.com and opening the Wilco Loft Shop in hopes of finding trustworthy homes for our beloved gear overflow. We hate to see it go, but we're sure you'll put it to good use!" Highlights of the sale include a '58 Gretsch 6120, a '70s Gibson Explorer, and a vintage '74 Fender Stratocaster. (Chicagoist)

Brooklyn Nets honor The Notorious B.I.G.

20 years after his death, Christopher Wallace — a.k.a. The Notorious B.I.G. or Biggie Smalls — was honored by his hometown NBA team, the Brooklyn Nets. At halftime of Sunday night's game against the New York Knicks, the Nets raised a banner featuring a lyric from Biggie's song "Juicy":"Spread love, it's the Brooklyn way." Smalls was killed during a drive-by shooting in Los Angeles on March 8, 1997.

Pink Floyd's 'The Wall' opera premieres in Montreal

Another Brick in the Wall: L'Opéra had its world premiere on Saturday night in Montreal — ironically the same city in which Roger Waters (according to legend) spat in the face of a fan nearly 40 years ago, in an incident which inspired him to write The Wall as a member of Pink Floyd. The opera uses only bits of Floyd's original music, with composer Julien Bilodeau transforming that source material into a new, two-hour, surrealistic production. The Wall will have its U.S. premiere with the Cincinnati Opera in July 2018. (Rolling Stone)

Joni Sledge dies at 60

"Pray for us as we weep for the loss of our sister, mother, aunt, niece and cousin Joni Sledge. We thank you for privacy as we hurt for her presence, but also for embracing her radiance and the sincerity with which she loved life," a statement issued by her family says. (Billboard)

'Outstanding Ambassador' Killer Mike honored

Killer Mike — politically active rapper, and one half of Run the Jewels — was recently honored by the Georgia Senate for being an "outstanding ambassador" to the city of Atlanta. He also delivered a speech to the state capitol, in which he discussed ways to improve the city. "Our children deserve decent housing. Gentrification should not make children poor," Killer Mike told state senators. "Our school systems deserve more attention. Our teachers deserve more money. Our firemen deserve more money. And our policemen deserve more than new guns. They deserve to have enough cops on the street to be involved in the community." (Rolling Stone)
