Mipso share three songs from their new album, 'Coming Down the Mountain'

It's been a little over a year since we first talked with the North Carolina-based string band Mipso. At that time, they were only a few years out of college and had already released their second album. The road was still a little new, but they had a professional sound more mature than their years.
Fast forward to April 2017: Mipso's third album is just out. The band is still relatively new. The road? … not so much anymore. But their sound is developing more and more. Their new album, Coming Down The Mountain, is 10 original songs all written and arranged by the band. They've expanded their sound and have added pedal steel, electric guitar, keyboards and drums, but underneath lies their strong harmonies and excellent string playing. Jacob Sharp, who plays mandolin and guitar, says, "It's funny … none of us were really dreaming of this. It's a constant experiment."
Mipso stopped by our studios to treat us to three songs from their new release.
