April 22, 2017

Saturday, April 22, is Record Store Day, and 2017 marks the 10th anniversary of the event dedicated to record culture, record lovers, record makers, and to the record stores that stock and sell the music. If you're out record shopping this Saturday, keep an eye out for the gang from Oake & Riley in the Morning.

The Current's Brian Oake and Jill Riley, along with producer Anna Reed, will be making their way to several area record stores. They're getting an early start, right as the stores open at 9 a.m. Here's a rough itinerary of where they'll go:

Down in The Valley
8020 Olson Memorial Hwy, Golden Valley, Minn.

Mill City Sound
812 Main Street, Hopkins, Minn.

HiFi Hair & Records
Loring Park
1637 Hennepin Ave, Minneapolis

Flashlight Vinyl
1519 Central Ave NE, Minneapolis

Electric Fetus
Downtown West
2000 4th Ave S, Minneapolis

Barely Brothers Records
783 Raymond Ave, St Paul, Minn.

Treehouse Records
2557 Lyndale Ave S, Minneapolis

If you see Oake & Riley out and about on Record Store Day, be sure to say hello, and feel free to tweet about it using the hashtag #RSD17.

Meanwhile, here's a DIY project Jade shared for Record Store Day 2016; it's a fun activity that's worth revisiting:
