A new blue pigment called YInMn (yin-min) was discovered in 2009 by Mas Subramanian, a chemistry professor at Oregon State University, and it was the first new blue pigment in 200 years.

Crayola is running a contest to name their new blue crayon based on this pigment, and it's got us thinking blue today.
