Queens of the Stone Age crash back on to the chart straight in at #1! They play Roy Wilkins Oct 14th and if you wanna get a feel for what QOTSA are like live BrooklynVegan was at Riot Fest this weekend in Chicago for a set full of hits and extended versions, but NOT an encore.

The National are also high new entries at #3 with another track from the Album of the Week. Jade says it sounds like the time apart has allowed them, "to make the album it seems they have always wanted to."

U2 were in town recently when they announced details of their new album "Songs of Experience". This is the first track released in at #13 and as the bassist Adam Clayton explained to Brian Oake, it's the story of what happened to U2 after the success of "The Joshua Tree" over here in the USA.

Apparently in high school Lorde was teased about her 'monobrow'! Now she's on the cover of Vogue Australia and loving the irony. She's also back on our chart singing about the art museum in Paris. She also told NME this week that her mind was blown when she turned 19 and split from her boyfriend.

Foo Fighters are in at #18 and this week's #1 on Billboard although they only got a 6.5 on Pitchfork this week! Apparently Dave Grohl has dressed as the singer from The Hives for Halloween in the past, so when they played in Sweden at the weekend they invited Pelle to help them cover AC/DC!!

Alex Lahey is another precocious talent based in Melbourne Australia and is about to release her debut Love You Like A Brother on Oct 6th. With this single, in at #19 becoming a global hit she tells the Australian HuffPost that it feels like the quiet before the storm.

Bully's new 'Losing' album comes out Oct 20th on Sub Pop and they come in at #20 with the first single from it. They'll play The Fine Line November 4. The album was engineered and mixed at Electrical Audio in Chicago where Steve Albini, the legendary producer works and where lead singer Alicia used to intern.

J.Roddy Walston and the Business were back in town last week and explained to me why the #17 song and the new album took so long in coming and what they got up to in their 'break'.
