It was fun to have Sarah Morris bring her band into the studio to play songs from her new album, Hearts In Need Of Repair. Morris studied classical music in college and had intended to begin a career in music education after graduating … but then the songwriting bug bit her. She brought her bug to Nashville for a while and honed her writing skills there, and now she is back among us in Minnesota with three albums, a great band and, oh yes … a husband and two kids.

And if you follow her on Facebook, you know what "Toilet Tunes" are, too. This is where Morris invites friends (and family) in her bathroom — which Morris says has great acoustics — to sing songs. One of her most recent videos is a duet with her five-year-old daughter singing "Purple Rain." It'll melt your heart.

Sarah Morris's album-release party is Friday, Nov. 10, at the Hook and Ladder Theater & Lounge in Minneapolis.
