Janelle Monae is inducted for the second time to our Chart Hall of Fame and it's the 5th week at the top, making her the most successful chart artist of the year so far. Back in 2013 I got a chance to chat with her about her MN roots and... Prince.

Father John Misty is also inducted, for the 9th time, putting him at Number Four on the All Time Hall of Fame Chart behind The Black Keys, Arcade Fire and Jack White, who is at #9 and the subject of a Rolling Stone cover story, where he explains his dalliance with Pro-Tools and rap.

St. Vincent is the highest new entry this week at ten. This is the title track from last year's 'Masseduction' album which she discusses in a recent interview with Variety. It's headline is, "Songwriting is a crazy job for crazy people!"

Sylvan Esso are also inducted to the HOF for the 4th time. They're doing an extensive USA summer tour which hits The Surly Brewing Festival Field on July 20th.

Frank Turner returns after a week hiatus with the first single from his new album 'Be More Kind' and the next video from it was just released and it's about... Making America Great Again, by a self described, in the song, "ignorant Englishman".

Alice Merton also returns at #13. Her star continues to rise as she adds tour dates around the USA including tomorrow night (May 10th) at The Grammy Museum in LA.

Beck's album was on my Top Ten of the year and it's great to see that it's got legs! The fifth song from it to chart is the title track, new at fourteen and I hope he has the legs... As he adds more legs to his tour, including Madison Square Garden in July and the massive festival Outside Lands in San Francisco in August.

Brooklyn based, Texas bred, post punks Parquets Courts debut for the first time ever with 'Wide Awake' the title track of their new Danger Mouse produced album, releases next Friday. They also have their own radio station.

Submit your Chart Show ballot this week for a chance to win a pair of VIP tickets to Soundset at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds on May 27, 2018!
