Looks like Childish Gambino might hold on to the top space for 10 weeks straight?!?! That would be a record and bad news for everyone else! There's some good news however for Leon Bridges who has already spent ten weeks on our chart, most of them in the Top 5 and at Number One for one week before being deposed by Gambino. Leon's inducted for the first time to The Chart Show Hall of Fame and is apparently inspiring the star of the 'Footloose' remake to dance.

Father John Misty is back as the highest new entry at #7, with another track from his brand new 'God's Favourite Customer' which came out last week and seems to be getting generally strong reviews. Consequence of Sound gave it a B saying that it sounded like, "A solid comedown record," in which Mr. Tillman, trades the humor of his last three records for a slightly more somber tone of heartbreak. He'll still be a little funny, I'm sure, when he headlines Rock The Garden... next weekend!!

St. Vincent continues to climb after five weeks on the chart. She just announced some west coast shows, with Florence and the Machine and Lizzo as opening acts! She resumes her world tour down under next week.

Neko Case also rises three places with a track from her 'Hell-On' that came out last Friday. It's her seventh solo record, but the first since her colab with Laura Viers and k.d. Lang which may have introduced her to a whole new audience. Pitchfork reckons she took inspiration from a book called "The Amazons; Lives and Legends of Warrior Women Across The Ancient World." And gave it a very respectful 7.7.

Parquet Courts bounce back after one week away, after coming through town to play at The Fine Line. They also stopped by our studios to do a short session and chat with me and after the interview we got into talking soccer. They have a track on the new album called 'Total Football', inspired by the Netherlands team tactics of the 80's. Austin guitars and keyboards, admitted to being a big Man United fan, but lead singer Andrew was more inclined towards World Cup predictions. As they told the NME however, the song is more about politics than sport!

Ray LaMontagne is also back on our chart with the first song from his new album 'Part Of The Light' released last month. He performed it on Monday night on Jimmy Kimmel.

The first song we're playing from Dawes new 'Passwords' record is new at #19. We just announced a Palace Theater show on Sept 7th. You can get pre-sale details tomorrow on the Cross Currents newsletter.

"Sucker's Prayer" was the third song of the Palace Theater set that Decemberists played in April and is new at #20 this week. You can still listen to the archive of that show which they kindly let us record and broadcast.
