Ana Egge performs in the Radio Heartland studio

I had been hearing Ana Egge sing for a few years before I finally saw her perform live. There's a difference, I think. With the recorded Ana, you get beautifully crafted songs sung by her soft airy voice with creative accompaniment. But with the live Ana, you get to see the sheer joy of a performer doing what she was meant to do. Her face lights up at certain musical intersections and progressions.
Ana's latest project, White Tiger, was released in early June and it features collaborations with talented producer Alex Hargreaves, guitar player Billy Strings, and the vocals of Anaïs Mitchell, too.
Ana Egge popped into the Radio Heartland studio while in town briefly to talk about the new album, her upbringing in a very small North Dakota town and her move to New York City.
