Even though he remains at the top for the 7th week in total, there's more bad news for Childish Gambino as his record company is disputing with him for royalties, which is a switch from the norm! Also in our music news notes this week another rapper fell off another stage at Roskilde Festival. Gorillaz were performing their big hit "Clint Eastwood" when Del The Funky Homosapien took a tumble.

St. Vincent is inducted to the Hall of Fame for the 7th time putting her at #16 on our All-Time HOF Chart. She's due to play the venerable old Newport Folk Festival next week, wonder if she'll do it acoustic?! And she'll be part of the massive Lollapalooza in Chicago first weekend in August.

Beck is inducted for the sixth time with the title track from his 'Colors' album of last year. If you haven't checked out the new video for this yet it's directed by Edgar Wright who directed 'Baby Driver', my favorite movie for how it is in sync with its soundtrack all the way through.

Brandi Carlile is the biggest upward mover, 13 places to #5. She is having young English up and comer Jade Bird open for her on some West Coast dates in August. Jade just did one of our Micro-Shows and now there's a documentary that has already been put together of her of her tour this spring.

Death Cab For Cutie are back as the highest new entry from their forthcoming album out Aug 17th, "Thank You For Today". They've booked a huge tour in support of it, including Oct 5th at The Palace. And they recently played this song on Colbert.

The Record Company are also new this week at #14. They played another recent Micro-Show that we aired this week.

Interpol come marauding back after a long hiatus, with the August 24th release of their new 'Marauder'. They have a serious world tour lined up and got a chance to warm up for it by supporting The Cure in Hyde Park.

Now, Now creep into the basement space this week, and they must be a little perturbed that the new album from Gorillaz is called "The Now Now", it will make it harder for you to search for them on the web! They're on a big USA tour right now after starting their year playing our 13th Birthday Party at First Avenue. The venerable old venue is part of Independent Venue Week, an idea imported from the UK which is fashioned after Record Store Day.

Submit your Chart Show ballot this week for a chance to The Current's Nathaniel Rateliff and the Night Sweats giveaway at the Palace Theatre in St. Paul, MN on August 5, 2018!
