As reported in Monday's Music News podcast, The Eagles Greatest Hits 1971 – 1975 recently overtook Michael Jackson's Thriller as the best-selling album of all time, based on physical sales and song streams. And while the numbers don't lie, it raises a different question: Is a greatest hits album truly an album?

Jay Gabler and Jade pondered this question during Monday's Music News podcast, and KARE 11's Jana Shortal stopped at The Current to talk to Jade about this same topic for the story in the video above.

"You are not taking umbrage with the talent of the band the Eagles?" Shortal asks.

"No, of course not," Jade insists. "These are great songs. I listened to 'Desperado' growing up. These are songs that are interwoven into the history of my life. But … those songs, being from a wide swath of albums, it's just not the same thing."

Jade puts a finer point on her argument: "If it was The Best of Michael Jackson versus Thriller — get it out of here!"
