In 2002, Steve McQueen he created a 70 minute video called "Once Upon a Time," using images taken from what's known as the Golden Record - a collection of generic images selected by Carl Sagan to be carried on the Voyageur space probe on the off-chance it met with intelligent lifeforms who wanted to know who made the craft.

Carl Edward Sagan was born in Brooklyn on this day in 1934.

He passed away in December 1996, but not before becoming a world-renowned astronomer, cosmologist, astrophysicist, astrobiologist, author, and science popularizer in astronomy and other natural sciences.
