Brandi Carlile holds on to the top spot for the third week ahead of her three State Theater shows this weekend. Check for ticket availability but if you can't make it Friday's show will be broadcast on the radio starting around 9pm! You can also go to Mexico next year to see Brandi and some of her girlfriends play at the sold out inaugural "Girls Just Wanna Weekend"

Atmosphere bounced back on to the chart at #3 this week as fans tried to win tickets to their Palace Theater show. The December 15 one is sold out but they added another on December 14.

Another local band had two big shows at The Palace last weekend, Hippo Campus who jump to #6. They allowed us to stream the Saturday show and you can watch the archive of it.

Inducted to the Chart Hall of Fame four times with his band Radiohead, Thom Yorke debuts as a solo performer. He'll be playing a sold out show at Northrup Auditorium Dec 6th, his first in the Twin Cities for over 20 years!

Muse are the highest new entry this week at sixteen. Their 'Simulation Theory' is our Album of the Week which Music Director David Safar describes as, "only capable of being produced in a musical laboratory."

When I told the Iceland Airwaves audience that Sophie Allison, aka Soccer Mommy, new at 19, was actually born in Switzerland there were several cheers from the bar, which was filled with music lovers from across the planet, Switzerland included apparently! She caused one of the biggest laughs of our sessions too when she explained that UK crowds have trouble with her band name, they like to call it 'football' over there. "It's usually the old, bald guys ..." Like me I supposed?! "No!" she said, " your the same age as me!" "Only because you're an old soul," I replied. You can listen to the rest of the interview and the others we did in Reykjavik, as we add more videos to the archive.

Lenny Kravitz has taken a long hiatus from the music world, but is back in our basement this week. During that time he has built a reputation for himself as an Interior Designer, finishing his first NYC condo project last year.

Submit your Chart Show ballot this week for a chance to win The Current's Kurt Vile and the Violators giveaway at First Avenue in Minneapolis, MN on December 19, 2018!
