This week, Mary Lucia talks about seeing the new documentary, 'Boy Howdy! The Story of Creem Magazine,' about the groundbreaking rock magazine that was founded in Detroit in 1969. The documentary just had its premiere at the South By Southwest festival in Austin, Texas.

"I almost want to say Creem was the music magazine you graduated to from Mad magazine, because it was irreverent, kind of sophomoric in its humor," Mary says. "It was relentless in terms of its goal was to take down all the rock stars, all the rock gods; there was no such thing as a sacred cow in rock."

About the documentary, Mary says "they've got all the right talking heads there, like Dave Marsh and Greil Marcus and all kinds of people that were there. … It's a really interesting snapshot of rock and roll in media in 1969."
