It's been fun over the past several years to watch The Last Revel morph into what they are today. When I first met them, they were focusing on their sound as a three-piece, foot-stompin' string band working local clubs and festivals. But their new album, Fool's Spring, is presenting us with a new sound and a new lineup of musicians as well.

The album release show is Saturday, June 8, at the Turf Club in St. Paul, Minn., and you'll still hear some fiddle and banjo sounds, but also drums, bass and the lovely voice of Rachel Hanson on lead vocals for many of the new tunes. The Last Revel are still a foot-stompin' band at heart, though.

The Last Revel pulled their van up to our door to play some songs live on Radio Heartland.
